I enjoyed this, and not because it was sort of my ideas.

Everything connects to everything and so a podcast about Wednesdays is really about the nature of the 9-5 life, which is then about money and dreams and family and how you as an adult measure up to what your childhood self thought you would grow up to be and on and on.

Your production value is good too, and you know that me saying anything nice about your work hurts.

So yeah, this was really surprising good.

Have you ever wondered why a certain Sheffield based football club has such an unusual name?

I'll tell you! On 4 September 1867 members of Sheffield based Wednesday Cricket Club, so called because the founders were steel workers who worked every day of the week except Wednesdays, met to discuss what their players could do to keep fit during the winter months.

Somebody suggested setting up a football team and The Wednesday Football Club was formed and went from strength to strength. When a common naming convention was introduced by the football league in the 1920s the club opted to keep their origin name and adopted the name Sheffield Wednesday.

In fact most traders, steel workers and brewery workers in Sheffield at that time had Wednesday as their sole rest day, which would technically mean that Sunday was their hump day!
